Welcome to The Pawsitive Path!

    Welcome to The Pawsitive Path, the blog by, for, and about service dog handlers! The Pawsitive Path is an offshoot of our original community outreach program called The Pawsitive Connections Project, which aims to increase service dog education within our local community in Idaho. Both Co-Founders Emily and Kaylee have been service dog handlers for several years and have seen the best and worst of our community. We both noticed the gap in public education for service dogs in our community and decided to do all we can to help our fellow handlers experience life with fewer roadblocks.     We would love to take this time to introduce ourselves as we embark on this exciting new venture! As previously mentioned, both Co-Founders are service dog handlers, but our journeys to get there are incredibly different. 

    Our dogs are our entire lives and have our whole hearts. Not only are they our lifelines while on duty, but they are such a huge part of our lives as beloved pets. Both dogs are currently working on different titles through the AKC, are active participants in dog sports, and are a part of an amazing community of fellow service dog handlers in the Treasure valley that work tirelessly to support and uplift one another. We truly could not have gotten where we are without our amazing friends!

    As much as we believe in the goals and purpose of The Pawsitive Connections Project, we wanted a space that was dedicated to service dog handlers and their lives. This is the ultimate goal with The Pawsitive Path, to spread the love and support our friends has offered us and help others feel just as accepted as a part of the service dog community. With this blog we hope to share exciting updates on the Pawsitive Connections Project, highlight service dog handler owned small businesses, and share exciting news within the service dog community.
